Week 10-Task 10-Living in the Future

Lecture:

Blade-runner was what we watched in the lecture this week. It is a 1982 film starring Harrison Ford. The film was placed in LA which is a futuristic set in 2019. Harrison Ford is a blade runner who is after terminating replicas that were created by other humans. The themes and the ideas that were presented was how we are able to control our future by creating the people. The power that we have with creating what the ideal person would be like with no emotions and no recollection of the past. It is interesting to see how they portray these people in society in the future. They see the people and how they react to others around them. These people know who they are and the way that they fit into society.

Readings

The reading for this week was a continuation of blade-runner and the impacts of society. It relates to the ideas of humans and how we live with the ideas the television, technology and the ideas of war. Humans can be compared with technology and the reality. He continuously is making comparison between humans and other aspects in society. The ideas of people know who they are and the different aspects of their own life and where they fit into society. The reading this week did not flow well and was confusing, but the comparisons made were clear. The references to the various aspects in society were able to make links between everyday ideas.
