Week 1-Topic 1- Second Life

Second Life is a three-dimensional virtual online world. Approximately 3.5 million people have signed up for this virtual world. Only a fraction of this number uses the site on a regular basis. Second Life can be an escape from the real world. Several people claim that Second Life is terrible or meaningless. People would spend hours on a website with others in a world that doesn’t exist. They say that people should enjoy their real lives instead. I believe that if people want to create new world, they should have that freedom. People can express themselves and be someone that they wouldn’t be in the real world. If someone is generally shy in the real world, they can be very outgoing in their virtual world. It’s based on personal opinion. For some, Second Life is a confident boost and assists in their real lives. The hours that they spend, may be a waste of time in the real world, but it’s able to help them benefit and enjoy life.
